This sample uses the Windows.Media.SpeechSynthesis APIs to create an audio stream and output speech, also known as text-to-speech (TTS), in a Windows Store app.
Specifically, this sample covers the following:
- Setting the speech synthesizer to a specific gender, voice, and language.
- Generating speech output from a plain text string using the default characteristics and properties of the selected voice.
- Generating speech output from a string containing Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) to customize voice characteristics, pronunciation, volume, pitch, rate or speed, emphasis, and so on.
- Saving an audio stream to a .wav file.
